Volunteering
Volunteer at McVille Community Library
The McVille Community Library is powered by people like you—dedicated volunteers who give their time, talents, and heart to help our library thrive. Whether you're passionate about books, enjoy organizing, love organizing events, or want to share your knowledge with others, there’s a place for you here!
Volunteer Staffing Support
We're proud to be open five days a week—and we’d love to expand our hours to include an evening each week. To make that possible, we need more volunteers!
What’s involved:
-
Checking books in and out for patrons
-
Keeping shelves organized
-
Committing 2.5 to 10 hours per month
Let us know your availability, and we’ll contact you with staffing opportunities that fit your schedule.
Administration & Technology
Want to help behind the scenes or empower others through tech? We need volunteers to assist with everything from grant writing and outreach to teaching digital skills.
Do you know how to use:
-
Kindles, Nooks, tablets?
-
Ancestry.com or other online research tools?
-
Basic computer skills?
Consider leading a class or one-on-one session. You can also join a committee to support our long- and short-term goals.
Children’s Programs
Support our youngest readers! We need volunteers to help kids with crafts and activities during our monthly school-year programs and the summer reading program.
What we need:
-
Friendly faces to assist with craft time
-
Help setting up and cleaning up
Donations of craft supplies are also appreciated!
Ready to Volunteer?
If you're interested in any of these opportunities—or would just like to learn more—contact the library today. Whether you can give a few hours a month or just want to be on-call for special events, we’re grateful for your support.
Together, we can keep McVille Community Library a vibrant, welcoming place for all.
